The 2018 Toyota Camry is famous for its attractive exterior design and powerful engine options, but in many ways, the 2018 Mazda6 Sedan is the superior choice. Not only can Mazda drivers look forward to more power, more interior luxury, and better exterior equipment, they’ll pay less for a stunning new Mazda6 than they will for a Camry too.

Performance

The Mazda6 offers two engine options including a 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder capable of generating as much as 310 lb-ft of torque, making it a responsive choice for urban and highway driving. Control of this power is easy, thanks to the speed-sensitive variable-assist power steering system that automatically adjusts the way the vehicle behaves based on speed and road conditions.

The Toyota Camry’s optional 3.5L V6 engine promises just 267 lb-ft of torque—a difference of more than 40 lb-ft. The Camry doesn’t offer variable-assist power steering on any trim.

Interior Amenities

Options such as the available memory seating system allow two drivers to use the Mazda6, saving their preferred settings so they won’t have to manually adjust the seats and mirrors the next time they drive the vehicle. The Mazda6 also aims to make cabin occupants comfier with amenities like heated rear seats, air-conditioned front seats, and standard dual-zone air conditioning.

The Toyota Camry doesn’t offer memory seating, heated rear seats, or an air-conditioned front seat on any trim, and if drivers want to take advantage of the convenience of dual-zone air conditioning, they’ll have to pay more for it.

Exterior Technology

New advances in technology make it easier for drivers to see clearly when driving, making every trip safer and more convenient. The 2018 Mazda6 celebrates this progress by embracing features like rain-sensing windshield wipers, cornering headlights, and auto-dimming side view mirrors. Toyota omits all these features from the Camry options menu.
